Full-Time Technical Assistant:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to join our team. This full-time role is ideal for someone with hands-on IT experience, particularly in hardware diagnostics and data recovery processes. The Technical Assistant will support our technicians in daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.

Technical Assistant - Job Details:
Key Responsibilities:
- First-Level Technical Support: Provide initial technical assistance via phone, addressing customer inquiries, assessing potential data recovery needs, and scheduling service requests.
- Data Recovery Preparation: Assist technicians in preparing for data recovery tasks, including handling and organizing storage devices, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining a cleanroom environment.
- Service Coordination: Manage service scheduling and technician availability using internal tracking systems to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Storage Device Handling: Safely remove storage devices from enclosures or chassis as part of the data recovery preparation process.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshooting of storage devices under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service requests, diagnostic procedures, and customer interactions to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Research: Conduct internet-based research to assist in troubleshooting complex technical issues and stay updated on the latest data recovery techniques.
- On-Site Assistance: Occasionally assist with on-site service requests, including hardware installations and diagnostics, which may involve travel within the Calgary area.
- Workspace Maintenance: Ensure that workspaces, including the cleanroom and equipment storage areas, are well-organized and comply with industry standards.
- Customer Follow-Up: Perform quality control follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction with services rendered and address any ongoing concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be bondable by our insurance provider(s).
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
- Intermediate knowledge of IT diagnostics and troubleshooting, with a focus on storage devices and data recovery processes.
- Understanding of various storage devices, RAID configurations, and file systems.
- Strong technical research skills and the ability to problem-solve independently.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
- Ability to provide professional references and demonstrate technical skills during the interview process.
